
New services for Plant Variety Rights

Clients using the Plant Variety Rights Office (PVRO) services now have a wider range of payment options for fees.
All services can be paid by direct debit if you have an account, or by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex or Diners). The new services also include the ability to receive email confirmation when your fees have been received.
Direct Debit
If you want to pay for services by direct debit you will need an account with us.
If you currently have an IPONZ, Companies Office or other Ministry of Economic Development account:
Simply write your Customer ID number or User ID number on the top right hand corner of the form or make a note on the covering documentation stating you wish the account to be debited for the fee.
If you are not currently an account holder:
You can set up an account through the IPONZ website. Opening an account takes only a minute or two, and there are no joining or maintenance fees. To open an account, follow the instructions below:

To open a direct debit account
- Click “Get User ID” at the bottom left hand corner of the homepage
- Fill in the details on the Account Administration form, including your bank account number and payer reference
- In the Sites and Services box select Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand and any other sites you require
- Click SAVE at the top of the screen. You will be emailed a form to sign, confirming your bank account number and authorising the direct debit. Return this form by post and your account will be active within 5 working days.

Credit Card
To pay by VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Diners credit card simply complete the Credit Card Payment Form and submit it with your documentation. The form is available from the “Forms” section of our website.
