Affordable housing: a regional solutions study

Published: 12.09.2006

The Centre for Housing Research, Aotearoa New Zealand (CHRANZ) has released research addressing the causes of, and solutions to, housing affordability problems in the Nelson, Marlborough and Tasman Districts, in the context of labour market, economic and demographic developments.

The project was jointly funded by CHRANZ, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Work and Income regional office for Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast.

A focus of the study was to identify a range of potential solutions with local agencies, including local government, employer and community groups, and central government agencies. A free copy of the report Affordable Housing in Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough: Taking Action and the background research reports can be found on the CHRANZ website under “Our Publications”.
