New arrangements regarding investigation of gas and electricity accidents

Published: 11.02.2009

Since January 2009 responsibility for investigation of worker and workplace accidents and incidents involving electricity and gas has been transferred to the Department of Labour (DOL).

Energy Safety (ES) continues to investigate accidents and incidents involving the general public.

Matters relating to competency of licensed workers are investigated by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB - electrical workers), and the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB - gasfitters).
