The new Electricity (Safety) Regulations to come into force in 2010

The exposure draft of the proposed Electricity (Safety) Regulations was considered by industry in September.

Over 50 submissions were received on the draft regulations Submissions have been analysed by Energy Safety and changes to the draft regulations will now be made in light of the submissions, which mainly relate to technical points that require correction.

It is expected that the remaining Parliamentary stages for the regulations will be completed before the end of the year and the new regulations will come into force in 2010.
