Crown Broadcasting Licence Agreements

Published: 09.02.2010

In March 2009, a discussion document Alignment of Crown Broadcasting Licence Agreements was released to industry stakeholders.

It sought feedback on proposed changes to Crown broadcasting licence agreements to improve the consistency of such agreements.

After considering comments from stakeholders, a new licence agreement template has now been drafted, and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Te Puni Kōkiri, and the Ministry of Economic Development will be contacting non-commercial, iwi, and local commercial FM broadcasters respectively to implement the new licence agreements as part of the arrangements for issuing new licences to replace the current licences that expire in April 2011.
